ASSIMILATE is a National Teacher Fellowship Scheme (NTFS) project funded jointly by Leeds Metropolitan University and the Higher Education Aca
demy, research led by NTFS Professor Sally Brown, directed by Professor Ruth Pickford and managed by Janice Priestley.

The project has principally been involved in exploring innovative assessment at Masters level, recognising that limited prior research had been undertaken in this area. We undertook interviews in the UK and internationally to elicit information about diverse approaches and produced case studies showcasing innovations. Twenty two of these can be found on the website alongside a number of overviews of diverse international approaches. We are progressively adding to the information provided on the website as further case studies are being processed.

Dr Tim Deignan has been helping us make sense of the findings using Q sorts and activity theory. We will be presenting the principal conclusions at a number of conferences in 2012, including the SEDA conference in May at Chester, the HEA conference at Nottingham in July and our own conference at Leeds Met on Thursday 6th September. One hundred free delegate places are available at this event: follow this link for information and booking details:
Other outputs will include journal articles, a compendium of Masters assessment approaches on our website, and a final project report.
